Wall System

The logs interlock using rebated double tongue and groove. The solid timber logs are coated with one application of 'Ultalast Timber Safe'

Structural Engineering
All our building kitsets are specifically designed by a Structural Engineer to comply with the New Zealand Building Code and come with a Producer Statement ~ PS1.
Having the structural elements of our buildings engineered by qualified engineers helps make the building consent process a bit easier as the City Council knows the structural part of the plans are certified by trained professionals.
Consent Documents
We provide the engineered design & PS1 along with the specification and supporting documents.
Consent Application
We make the building consent application with the territorial authority for you.
What's Included
Our kitsets include.
We can supply bearers, floor joists & sheed flooring to comply with the Building Code.
The type & quantity will depend on the design & Building Code requirements.
All Nordic Spruce laminated solid tongue & groove logs.
Depending on the plan the logs can be 80, 95, 120, 140,160, 180, 200, 220 & 240 mm thick
Stainless steel threaded rods 12 mm diameter for fixing the ends of the walls
Screw & bolt fixings to the engineered specification
Each log has a number tag attached that is listed in the building plan so there is no guesswork involved, each log has a specific place.
A detailed plan of where each log goes is provided with the kitset.
There is no need for cutting logs as the kitset materials are machined to exacting tolerances.
All our External Joinery is Triple Glazed REHAU uPVC.
The insulation value of the REHAU joinery achieves a maximum value of 0.8 W/m2K
The type of windows & doors supplied are plan dependent.
External Doors:

Foundations
Timber floor on timber piles or concrete floor slab, our construction system will work on any foundation.
Walls

The construction of a Scandi Homes log house normally takes only few weeks and then the work on the interior can begin.
Windows & Doors
The REHAU windows & doors are installed when the log walls are about half way up, they just slide into a pre-cut groove in the wall logs, then the wall is completed around them.
All the REHAU external joinery is triple glazed in thermally broken uPVC frames with argon gas between the glass panes.
